What is a death cafe?

It is an in-person, small gathering of a group of people (usually people you know) to experience a guided discussion about fear, beliefs, values, personal wishes and practical actions related to our own end of life. None of us are guaranteed to be here tomorrow and most of us don’t want to reflect on that. From this safe space I will gently encourage reflection around your more holistic and personal considerations and discussion of documents you may still need to organize (wills, power of attorney, etc). More than likely we will unearth at least one thing you haven’t even known to contemplate.

Shelley’s testimonial:

“I am very satisfied with the expertise Karen provided throughout the Death Cafe. Karen’s knowledge and her relaxing demeanour provided the comfort to open up and share in a safe and comfortable space. I have recommended this service to a few in my circle.  Five stars

Kim’s testimonial:

Our conversation about death was surprisingly comforting. We were able to share stories, reflect on what death means to each of us, and talk openly in a nonjudgmental atmosphere. Talking about death was in many ways therapeutic, allowing us to put our lives in perspective and appreciate each moment.
Karen is a fantastic facilitator and I highly recommend this session.
